Z series vertical machining centers are available in an assortment
of sizes and configurations designed to meet any requirement.
All Z series machining centers features excellent cutting performance,
high accuracy, versatility and reliability, as well as high speed
production.
The Z3V is the smallest table traverse type of vertical machining
center. Providing power and speed for general purpose, as well as
aluminum machining, it features 12,000 RPM spindle speeds, a 30
taper shank, a 5 horsepower spindle and X & Y axis feed rates of
1,968 inch per minute and Z axis feed rates of 2,362 inch per minute
maximum.
It is equipped with a 5 HP spindle drive motor, 12,000 RPM, 16-position
automatic tool changer, and the user-friendly CNC Fanuc 0iMB control.
The combination of these features produces the most efficient and
convenient vertical machining center available for milling, boring,
drilling and tapping. The Z3V is not only for tapping and drilling,
but also has enough capability for milling as a machining center.
Standard Z3V configuration: 16 tools, three axes control with a
19.7" x 13.7" x 13.7" working envelope and 12,000 RPM spindle speeds.
A large milling cutter diameter of 3.1" is available.
A 16-station automatic tool changer allows fixed address to tools
7.8" long and weighing 4.4 pounds. Tools 3.1" in diameter can be
handled if the adjacent pockets are empty. The #30 machine taper
shank is available for BT or HSK-A40. The carousel is mounted with
the tool change mechanism residing away from the working envelope.
This design eliminates tool and workpiece interference, as well
as the negative effects of exposure to chips and coolant contact.
Approximate tool change time is 1.8 second (tool-to-tool).
